As you know NYC entered phase 4 on Monday, July 20. And while this is exciting news, skincare services will not be allowed in this phase. You’re probably asking yourself, isn’t phase four the final phase? Good question. We thought so too but as it turns out nobody knows! The only thing we know for sure is Estheticians are currently prohibited from performing facials in NY. This obviously affects my business greatly since I only offer skincare services- (Facials) in fact, that’s my specialty.
Spas and salons in NYC can reopen with some restrictions. Spas can offer waxing services as long as clients can wear a mask while receiving treatments – so basically you can get your eyebrows waxed, tinted, curled and what have you…but you can’t get a lip, chin or face waxed. Body treatments are also allowed including massages. The only services that are completely excluded are facials.
Hair salon are not exempt from these restrictions – salons can offer haircuts & color but are not allowed to offer blowouts. Yup, you read right. You can’t legally get a blowout in NYC. Does this make any sense?
So what does this mean for us here at Rejuvenate? We will need to offer body treatments in order to survive. We hope to be able to get back to offering our result-oriented and luxury facials soon! In the meantime, I will be rolling out a fabulous spa menu that will include anti-aging neck & decollette treatments using Nano Needling, back facials, rejuvenating eye treatments. These treatments will be available Saturday, August 1st.
Hope to see you soon!
